Ankara, Turkey, June 19, 2019 – Brazil defeated Belgium in three sets in the 2019 women’s FIVB Volleyball Nations League on Wednesday.
Brazil head coach Jose Roberto Guimaraes: “I am happy for my team, they played a good match in serves, block and defence. I think it was good to give experience to the new players. Playing against Turkey is always difficult. They improved last year and Giovanni knows our team. I think it will be a difficult match tomorrow, we will see.”
Brazil player Amanda Francisco: “It’s amazing to be here. There are a lot of players, experienced players, young players, the teams are amazing and now we are working hard.”
Belgium head coach Gert Bende Broek: “First of all congrats to Brazil. We did not play our best game in the VNL – maybe it was the second worst game. We have to forget today because tomorrow is our last game and we want to finish a wonderful VNL in the good way.”
Belgium player Dominika Soboloska: “I think we didn’t play our best game. Congrats to Brazil. Of course they are the better team but we didn’t really show we can be much better. I just feel like I am not satisfied because of this, you can lose but not in a way like this. We will play the last game tomorrow so we need to focus on playing well and we will see what the result is then.”
