    Bangkok, Thailand, June 6, 2019 – Dominican Republic kept their momentum going as they defeated Bulgaria 3-1(25-20, 25-21, 29-31, 25-20) at the Indoor Stadium Huamark in Bangkok on Thursday.

    Marcos Kwiek, coach of Dominican Republic: “I want to say congratulations to team Bulgaria. Today they did a great job. We have to swift players to get this victory. I am very happy that we won and got three points. We will now just try to focus on our next stop in Germany. I hope we will be successful again out there.”

    Prisilla Rivera, captain of the Dominican Republic: “I am very happy with this victory. I also would like to say congratulations to team Bulgaria for playing well today. I think today we made too many easy mistakes and we should not play like that. I hope we will do our best next week.”

    Ivan Petkov, coach of Bulgaria: “I think today we played a good match against great opponents like team Dominican. Apart from the first set, I think we performed well in the next two sets, but it was not enough at this level. I am happy that we played much better than yesterday’s match against Turkey.”

    When asked about his expectations for next week’s matches against Italy, Russia, and Korea, in Perugia, the coach added: “Next week will be also difficult for my team as we will be facing strong opponents. But I hope that we will show our best to get at least one victory in this tournament.”

    Lora Kitipova, captain of Bulgaria: “Congratulations to the Dominican Republic for the victory. I think we started to play very well in the third and fourth sets but it was not enough. We need to work more and more to reach out our best performance. I hope we will show our best next week.”
