Brasília, Brazil, May 22, 2019 – Russian wing spiker Tatiana Iurinskaia scored 17 points to help Russia claim its first victory in the 2019 VNL. The Russian squad defeated China 3-1 (25-22, 16-25, 25-16, 25-23).
Tatiana Iurinskaia, Russia wing spiker – “The key for our victory tonight was our friendship and bond. Each of us had an important role in this result. I am not satisfied with my level of volleyball in the game, and I want to improve for the next game tomorrow.”
Alexsander Krasilnikov, Russia head coach – “The most important moment to us was winning the third set. After the second set was a difficult moment, but our team was not broken so we started to play wel again. The team is very young and is improving each match, China is a tough team, but we managed to get a positive result.”
Wang Yuanyuan, China middle blocker – “We had problems with our block and defensive system. We had chances to get a better result but could not take them. Tomorrow is our last chance here to show a better game.”
