Lincoln, Nebraska, USA (June 5, 2019) – Brazil answered its loss on Tuesday to Germany with a convincing 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-11) victory over Korea on Wednesday in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA.
Brazil Captain Natalia Pereira: “I think we started better today than yesterday, and we actually started good yesterday but we started to go up and down. Today we had better concentration and the team played well. I want to congratulate our team, and we can keep like this to try to get better.”
On whether another possible loss hurting chances to get to the Finals Round was a factor: “Yes. We are worried about this game because we have some really tough games upcoming in USA, Italy and Turkey. We know we need to improve and get better, grow up as a team. It is not easy. We have a lot of difficult games. We need to have a little more fun like today. This kind of game is like how we want to play, smiling with lots of heartfelt celebrations.”
On playing USA on Thursday: “We have a tough game tomorrow in playing USA. For me, they are one of the favorites to win VNL. So it will be a really difficult game.”
Brazil Head Coach: Ze Roberto: “I think our focus was better. They wanted to play better than yesterday. The serve and blocking defense were a little better. All the players played the game. They enjoyed playing today.”
Korea Head Coach Stefano Lavarini: “When you play at this top level, you have to stop thinking young and old (players). We must adjust our thinking and try to be ready. But the way we played today made me really disappointed because we didn’t do our best. We had a lot of difficulties, and need to grow, begin to know each other because we have been working only a very few days together. There is always a shape to the loss, and the shape to today is something I did not like.”
